If you’re looking for a personal training experience in Littleton, CO, kickboxing may be one of the last activities you’d ever expect to do. You might think, “I’m not a professional fighter, and I don’t want to become one!” What you might not realize, though, is that kickboxing is a great exercise which challenges your endurance with intense bursts of energy. Many people who have no interest in competitive fighting reap the rewards of kickboxing every day, including the clients of 212° Fitness.
We include kickboxing along with Boot Camp classes and many other fitness programs at our Littleton gym because we know how beneficial it can be. Here’s how it works. Kickboxing can be practiced in training intervals with two partners. One partner holds pads for the other one to strike with punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Typically, a combination will be decided upon, such as right jab, left cross, right knee, left kick. The person striking will repeatedly perform the combination as their partner moves the pads into the correct position. The combination could then be inverted by interchanging the left and right strikes. After a period of time has passed, the two partners switch so that each person has a chance to strike and hold the pads.
Kickboxing is great for cardiovascular endurance, strength training, coordination, balance, and can even provide a level of self-defense ability. If you’re interested in pursuing kickboxing as part of a personal training program, the experts at Littleton’s 212° Fitness are ready to deliver a challenge that gets results.
