Gym tips …What You Should Know


Often times when we think of our fitness goals be it to lose weight, maintain a healthier lifestyle, build muscle tone, all of the above or somewhere in between we get lost in not knowing exactly where to start! Don’t let one (or all of these reasons) be YOUR reason not to contact 212 Degree Fitness. We can get you started, work with you, and get you working to achieve your goal(s).


If you’re not sure where to start (or how) let’s look at the basics…


One of the key basics in your decision to join a gym and get moving is to learn to move PROPERLY. This is as basic as it gets! Our trainers at 212 Degree Fitness will guide you in how to safely move your body through its full range of motion. We’ll show you safe techniques and proper form that will get your body moving on its course towards a stronger and more healthier you.


Next up…be CONSISTENT. Again basic! Obviously, the decision to partake in routine physical activity requires consistency in order to achieve your desired results. Be consistent in not only attending your scheduled workouts or the time you’ve dedicated to spend at the gym each week but be consistent in what you are putting back into your body!


To start, try to limit your consumption of processed foods and increase your consumption of fresh produce. Replace your coffee cup with a bottle of water and stay hydrated throughout the day. Work on sleeping more, stressing less, and you’ll be amazed at how you’ll feel both mentally and physically. The changes both inside and out will amaze you! Now of course, it takes time to implement changes and break long-time habits, but slowly new norms will develop. And of course, don’t beat yourself up if you skip a workout, indulge in an extra greasy cheeseburger or the like…just pick up where you left off. Remember tomorrow is a new day and we’ll be rooting for you every step of the way on this journey.
